According to the report, Cambodia’s Ministry of Tourism officially launched the “Visit Cambodia in the Green Season 2026” campaign on the evening of May 2, 2026, under the presidency of Tourism Minister Huot Hak.
The campaign was authorised by Prime Minister Hun Manet and aims to promote tourism throughout the year, particularly from May to October, when the country’s natural landscapes are lush and green.
To increase its appeal, the ministry introduced the “Six Worths” strategy: things worth seeing, places worth staying, foods worth tasting, places worth visiting, experiences worth trying and products worth buying.
Huot Hak said the campaign has three main objectives: increasing international visitors, encouraging domestic tourism and spreading visitor flows to different regions throughout the country.
He stressed that replacing the term “Low Season” with “Green Season” is more than a change of words; it is a strategy to change perceptions and highlight the period’s potential. He said the season showcases Cambodia’s lush natural beauty and fresh environment, making it suitable for nature-based tourism and relaxation that supports wellbeing.
He thanked the prime minister for continued support and guidance for tourism and praised the working group led by មហាំម៉ាត់ យូណេះ, saying its contributions had helped the campaign make continued progress.
The event brought together diplomatic representatives, development partners, national and international organisations, capital and provincial leaders and many private-sector participants. The ministry expressed confidence that public-private cooperation could turn the 2026 green season into a “Green Gold Season” bringing jobs, economic growth and sustainable development for Cambodians.
