According to the original report, Preah Sihanouk province was studying a Walk Street project similar to Phnom Penh’s pedestrian street, including its location and a master layout for related infrastructure. The provincial administration was considering ទីលានតេជោ or the កន្ទុយនាគ area in Sihanoukville as the site.
The report said provincial governor Mang Sineth and technical officials from relevant departments inspected the area on May 12, 2026, to consider ways to make it more attractive to visitors. The proposed pedestrian route was 1,225 metres long and 3 metres wide, with planned food, coffee and souvenir areas.
Despite the site inspection, the provincial administration had not said when construction would start, how many months it would take or in which year it would finish. The report said the administration hoped the project would diversify tourism, support the local economy and provide an open-air visitor space. These were planning expectations rather than completed outcomes.
