Summary

Koh Kong's Win-Win Policy Monument is scheduled to open officially on May 30, 2026, with celebrations planned for the evenings of May 30 and 31.

The Koh Kong Win-Win Policy Monument will officially open for use on May 30, 2026, following six years of construction. The monument was built to commemorate the peace, achievements and implementation of the Win-Win Policy, which brought national reunification and ended the war in Cambodia, and to honor the heroism of the ancestors who sacrificed their lives to defend the country's territorial integrity and homeland.

Speaking in an interview with journalists, General ប៊ុន លើត, Secretary of State at the Ministry of National Defence and head of construction of the Koh Kong Win-Win Monument, said the inauguration would be presided over by General Tea Seiha, representing Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia. Approximately 6,300 participants are expected, including national and international guests, civil servants, members of the armed forces and the public.

The Koh Kong Win-Win Policy Monument is located in បឹងឃុនឆាង village, Smach Mean Chey sangkat (សង្កាត់ស្មាច់មានជ័យ), Khemarak Phoumin city (ក្រុងខេមរភូមិន្ទ), Koh Kong province, on a 216-hectare site. The structure is 47 meters high and 66 meters wide, with a distinctive architectural style and statues of lions, nagas, three-headed elephants, Garuda and three-headed hamsa birds around the monument.

General ប៊ុន លើត emphasized that funding for the monument's construction came from contributions by benefactors, without using the state budget.

The inauguration will also feature a range of activities, including sports competitions, exhibitions of achievements, fireworks, presentations on the implementation and success of the Win-Win Policy, and displays of the achievements of ministries, institutions, subnational administrations and the private sector over the 28 years from 1998 to 2026. Khmer products and food will also be showcased.

In addition, grand celebrations will be held on the evenings of May 30 and 31, 2026, presided over by Samdech Pichey Sena Tea Banh, Supreme Privy Councillor to the King.

General ប៊ុន លើត added that the construction of the Koh Kong Win-Win Monument aims to help Cambodians better understand the philosophy of the Win-Win Policy through art, architecture and sculptures that convey the value of the peace and national reunification Cambodia achieved after the war ended.
