Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wenbin expressed his delight after visiting the Chinese village in Veun Sai district, Rattanakiri province, a community with a long history of Chinese settlement in Cambodia.
He recalled that more than 130 years ago, Hakka people from the Huiyang area of Guangdong province, China, travelled a long distance to settle in Veun Sai. Their descendants have continued living there into the fifth generation.
For more than a century, residents of Veun Sai’s Chinese village have lived in harmony with local people, creating an example of unity, cultural coexistence and friendship that reflects the traditional ties between Cambodia and China across generations. By: សុខ ស៊ីណាន
