International Children’s Day is observed to recall the importance of implementing children’s fundamental rights and to highlight the Royal Government’s attention to improving their well-being and protection. Particular priorities include preventing and responding to violence against children, child labour and online risks, and ensuring timely and effective assistance for children who are victims or vulnerable to threats, exploitation and abuse in all forms.
Children are valuable human resources and a central force for the nation’s future. In line with the Royal Government’s Pentagonal Strategy—Phase 1, which places people as a leading priority, investing in children’s health, education, safety and development today builds a strong foundation for capable human capital and Cambodia’s future development and prosperity. Today’s children are tomorrow’s leaders and contributors to national development. By: Pai Sokhim
