The report says Peypey Dy drove a modern car into four motorcycles waiting at the Chong Kausu traffic lights in Siem Reap city on the afternoon of June 7, 2026, causing injuries. It says he remained in his car rather than getting out to check on or deal with those affected, prompting strong public reactions and criticism.
The report describes Peypey Dy as a social-media personality, owner of a well-known coffee and papaya-salad shop, and fundraiser of tens of thousands of dollars for front-line troops and displaced people during the war with Thailand. He explained that the collision on the evening of June 7 was unintentional: he pressed the accelerator by mistake and struck four motorcycles waiting at traffic lights in Siem Reap province.
Responding on Facebook to criticism that he had not got out to help resolve matters, Peypey Dy said motorcycles had trapped the car door so it would not open, and people at the scene had seen this. He also said the motorcycle owners told him it was all right if he could not get out and they could resolve matters as circumstances allowed, with police intervening immediately.
Peypey Dy further denied reports of broken arms or legs. He said only one person had a grazed leg and had undergone a scan and ultrasound without a problem. He also said he had agreed compensation with those affected to settle the matter, with police aware of the arrangement.
