Phnom Penh’s Department of Cults and Religion, working with the authorities, summoned Ms ទេព បូរី, known as “ម៉ែគ្រូនុយក្លែអ៊ែរ”, for guidance and to make an undertaking to delete from all social networks videos and photographs of activities the department considered detrimental to traditions, customs, Buddhism and social realities.
The report says the summons and undertaking to remove the videos followed her posting photographs and videos on social media that were considered to affect traditions, customs and Buddhism.
She also agreed to remove all photographs and videos of her activities from social-media platforms. She called on adherents, supporters and users of every type of social network not to copy or redistribute old photographs and videos, and to help remove both old and new activity images from social media.
Phnom Penh’s religious-affairs department also asked the public to stop reposting images of her activities and warned that anyone continuing to do so would personally face the law in force.
