Phnom Penh: Authorities found and detained six Vietnamese nationals during security checks and a search of a rental condominium in វាលវង់ sangkat, 7 Makara district, on June 15, 2026.
The operation followed direct instructions from Phnom Penh Governor ឃួង ស្រេង and was led on site by district governor ថេង សុថុល to implement Royal Government Sub-Decree No. 03 against online scam businesses.
ថេង សុថុល said the district unified command regularly inspects accommodation sites of all sizes to prevent criminal groups using Cambodia as a haven and base for technology-related offenses.
During room-by-room searches, authorities found:
Six Vietnamese suspects.
Eight mobile phones and three computers. The report alleged that the suspects had broken the computers to destroy evidence and evade responsibility.
The six foreign nationals and seized evidence have been sent to 7 Makara district police for questioning, case preparation and legal action.
