This morning, Takeo Governor 魏松南 presided over the launch of a targeted drug-testing campaign for provincial government personnel, calling for strict action against drug-related misconduct in public service.
Nearly 200 provincial government leaders, serving officials and contract workers took part in the screening. The campaign covered key checks across personnel working in the provincial administration.
At the ceremony, 魏松南 said the tests were an important measure to implement “Order No. 01” against drug-related offences within government institutions at all levels, and to improve the public-service workforce and administrative conduct.
The governor ordered a zero-tolerance approach to drug use among public personnel. He said participants in the tests and subsequent screening whose urine tests are positive and whose drug use is confirmed will be dismissed under the rules, without leniency, protection or concealment. He urged public personnel to observe the law, stay away from drugs and uphold professional and legal standards.
The report says all nearly 200 participants in the first round tested negative, with no drug users identified, describing this as evidence of discipline and lawfulness among Takeo personnel. The province plans to continue regular screening and enforcement to maintain a clean, lawful and disciplined public service.
