Tourism Minister Huot Hak presided over “Kirirum Paradise Fun Run 2026”, a five-kilometre recreational run at Kirirom National Park in Kampong Speu, to promote sport tourism and support the “Visit Cambodia in the Green Season” campaign, according to the ministry on 28 June 2026.
Participants included សួរ វីរៈ, director-general of វីរៈប៊ុនថាំអេសប្រេស; ហ៊ុន ហ្វាស, director-general of EHM; Tourism Ministry leaders; Kampong Speu provincial leaders; relevant ministries and institutions; content creators; key opinion leaders; and members of the public, totalling approximately 400 people.
The minister said the event was an important sport-tourism activity that promoted health and active living while publicising Cambodia’s natural tourism potential, especially Kirirom National Park, to domestic and international visitors.
He said holding it during the green season supported the ministry’s May–October “Visit Cambodia in the Green Season” campaign, which aimed to encourage domestic tourism and shift perceptions from “Low Season” to “Green Season”. He described this as a change in mindset, beyond a change in name, to encourage positive thinking, create economic opportunities and promote travel nationwide.
The minister thanked សួរ វីរៈ and his wife, EHM, the Kampong Speu Tourism Department, all armed forces, local authorities and relevant institutions for helping organise and support the event.
He also thanked the public and all participants for actively supporting tourism by taking part in the sport-tourism event.
He called on relevant parties and the public to continue the sector’s three slogans: “Tourism for all, all for tourism”, “Tourism grows in peace” and “Each individual is a promoter of Cambodian tourism”. He encouraged residents and visitors to travel to destinations nationwide, especially in the green season, to stimulate domestic tourism and support sustainable national economic growth.
