Pailin: Water in the Pailin stream was rising rapidly on the morning of Saturday, 4 July 2026, following two consecutive days of heavy rain that had substantially increased inflows.
Pailin Governor បាន ស្រីមុំ called on residents living along the stream and in low-lying waterside areas to remain highly alert, follow information from the authorities and prepare necessary measures to protect lives and property.
She said rain was continuing in the upstream mountains without signs of easing and could push water levels higher. Local authorities and relevant security forces were monitoring developments closely and preparing to intervene immediately if conditions became dangerous.
Residents were advised to avoid entering the water for recreation, fishing or crossing areas with strong currents, and to continue following announcements from the authorities.
