Preah Sihanouk: On the morning of July 5, 2026, provincial governor Mang Sineth led technical officials and relevant authorities to inspect progress on five concrete-road projects: four in Sangkat 4 and one in Sangkat 1 of Sihanoukville.
During the visit, the governor instructed technical officials to pay close attention to construction quality and ensure drainage systems meet technical standards, so water can flow properly, blockages are reduced, heavy-rain flooding is prevented and public roads are protected from damage.
He also urged local authorities to keep addressing outstanding infrastructure problems, especially drainage, and respond promptly to residents’ concerns. He called on residents to help maintain newly built concrete roads by avoiding overloaded transport, not dumping rubbish into drains and keeping the environment clean, so the infrastructure lasts longer and the city’s appearance improves.
The governor and his team also met residents in areas that had recently received concrete roads, asked about their well-being and learned about their livelihoods.
Residents expressed happiness and thanked provincial leaders and authorities for supporting local infrastructure development. They said their area previously had no concrete roads, which made travel difficult, especially in the rainy season.
They said travel had now become easier, including transporting agricultural produce, conducting business and getting children to school, contributing to better local living conditions.
