Beijing: Cambodia’s Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation (MISTI) is continuing to strengthen cooperation with China to develop micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), accelerate innovation and digital transformation, and improve the business-support ecosystem, with the aim of raising Cambodian enterprises’ productivity and competitiveness.
During a July 2–3, 2026 visit to Beijing, a MISTI delegation led by permanent secretary of state ញឹម ខេមរា held high-level discussions with Ke Jixin, identified in the source as China’s vice-minister of industry and information technology (MIIT), and leaders of China’s centre for promoting small and medium enterprise development.
The two sides exchanged views and experience on industrial development, MSME support, digital transformation and stronger institutional cooperation. They agreed to expand practical cooperation and knowledge-sharing in these priority areas.
The Cambodian delegation also visited and held discussions with leading Chinese technology companies and institutions, including iSoftStone Information Technology (Group) Co., Ltd., Zhongguancun (ZGC) Science Park, TusPark and the Torch High Technology Industry Development Center. The visits focused on innovation ecosystems, science-park development, business incubation, technology transfer and the commercialization of innovation.
These meetings also opened up opportunities for cooperation in product-packaging development, business-incubation centres, digital transformation, and links between MSME-support institutions and the private sectors of the two countries.
The visit helped strengthen Cambodia–China friendship and cooperation and laid groundwork for further practical cooperation projects under the Lancang–Mekong cooperation framework, aimed at innovation, productivity and the competitiveness of Cambodian MSMEs.
