Repeated heavy rain caused the Mongkol Borey river to flow rapidly and erode a substantial part of the shoulder and left side of Provincial Road 156D in Mongkol Borey district, Banteay Meanchey province. A public works and transport spokesperson urged people travelling on the affected section to exercise the utmost caution.
According to the provincial public works department’s notice, the damaged section of Provincial Road 156D runs from kilometre 2+800 to kilometre 3+000 at អូរតាម៉ា in ឫស្សីក្រោក commune, Mongkol Borey district, Banteay Meanchey.
Department teams installed signs, warning lights and traffic safety barriers along the damaged section while awaiting a detailed technical assessment and timely repairs.
The Banteay Meanchey Department of Public Works and Transport urged all vehicle owners travelling on Provincial Road 156D to remain highly alert from the date of the notice to help ensure traffic safety.
