The handover to Thai authorities took place at the Poipet international border checkpoint. Participants included ប៉ានខែម ប៊ុនថន, head of the government working group supporting Poipet city, together with leaders and officials from immigration police, Banteay Meanchey provincial police, the Poipet city administration and relevant institutions.

Brigadier General អ៊ី ចំរើន, chief of the Poipet international border checkpoint immigration police post, said the 79 Thai nationals comprised:

1. Forty people linked to online scam offences; 2. Thirty linked to illegal border crossings; and 3. Nine who had completed their sentences. Among the group, 39 were subject to five-year visa bans and 40 to three-year visa bans.

អ៊ី ចំរើន said that since the Cambodian government launched its crackdown on online scams, authorities had returned nearly 800 Thai nationals linked to offences through the Poipet international border checkpoint. He described this as demonstrating continued firm law enforcement to prevent and suppress cross-border offences.
