As of 6:10 a.m. on July 13, 2026, water in streams in Ratana Mondul district was rising because of repeated heavy rain and flooding. Authorities decided to open three gates at the Battambang multipurpose dam, also known as Sek Sak, raising the gates by one metre. This was stated in a notice issued by the Ratana Mondul district administration in Battambang province on the morning of July 13.
In the notice, the district administration called on all residents to keep following updates and take extra precautions to protect older people, children and property. It urged them to avoid playing in the water or crossing areas with strong currents. District authorities also asked residents to be ready to move to safe higher ground if water levels continued to rise.
