Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet met Wu Yujie, representative of Shandong (Cambodia) Economic and Technological Development Zone, on the evening of Wednesday, July 15, 2026. The meeting took place during the Prime Minister’s visit to China to attend the opening of the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference in Shanghai on July 17, under the theme “AI Partnerships for a Brighter Future.”
Shandong (Cambodia) Economic and Technological Development Zone is a major Chinese agro-industrial investor. The company has been investing in Cambodian agriculture since 2012, focusing on cassava and cashew nuts. It plans to expand investment in these crops and establish additional cashew-processing plants in Cambodia. Its investment activities have helped create direct and indirect jobs and contributed to the development of Cambodia’s agro-industrial sector.
