The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in Cambodian industry is entering a new stage of development, focusing on modernising factories and increasing productivity and production efficiency to improve the competitiveness of Cambodia’s industrial sector.
This development comes as the government prepares a national strategy for the effective and sustainable management and use of artificial intelligence.
On July 16, 2026, Bangsheng Spacetime (Guangxi) Technology Co., Ltd. held discussions with the Cambodian side on a proposal to establish a Cambodia-China technology industrial park. The proposal aims to promote cooperation in AI research, technological innovation and human resource development, while the company is studying investment opportunities in Cambodia.
Representatives of Huawei also held discussions with the Cambodian side on supporting skills training and the application of AI in industry.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation said efforts to promote innovation and economic transformation through AI must be based on ethical principles, respect for human dignity and preservation of the nation’s cultural identity.
The application of AI in industry is expected to help reduce production costs, speed up production and make product quality control more effective. It is also expected to support forecasting of market demand, inventory management and the organisation of logistics systems, potentially reducing business time and costs.
