Preah Sihanouk province: The Koh Rong municipal administration, in cooperation with youths, communities and relevant organisations, held a tree-planting campaign along a newly completed road on July 18, 2026, to improve the town’s appearance, increase tree cover and contribute to protecting and conserving a greener, more sustainable environment.
The campaign was led by ជា ពិសិដ្ឋនរៈ, Deputy Governor of Koh Rong municipality. Participants included the Preah Sihanouk provincial team of the Scholarship Students Association (អ.ម.ត), led by ឌុំ នឿន, កាន់ ភារៈ and សេង ហួលាង, as well as the Koh Rong park ranger office, the Koh Rong Mangrove Creek Ecotourism Community, the Koh Rong Environmental Conservation Association, the Koh Rong Tourism Community Association, representatives of relevant organisations and many residents.
During the event, municipal leaders said planting trees not only added greenery and improved the town’s appearance, but also cultivated an appreciation of nature and encouraged community involvement in environmental care, with the aim of ensuring responsible and sustainable use of natural resources for present and future generations.
The Koh Rong administration said the campaign was part of efforts to develop a clean, green and attractive town. It is intended to support tourism, make the town more attractive to domestic and international visitors, and promote Koh Rong’s development as a quality, sustainable tourism destination.
