The first leg of the 2026 Southeast Asian Men’s Volleyball Cup (SEA V.Cup) concluded on July 19 local time. Cambodia’s national men’s volleyball team fought through five sets in the final to edge Indonesia 3–2 and win the competition’s first-leg title for the first time in its history, achieving the country’s best-ever result in men’s volleyball.
The final was fiercely contested, with the two teams locked in a close battle and repeatedly exchanging the lead. Momentum shifted throughout the match as both sides gave their all in every set. Cambodia ultimately held its nerve and delivered at the decisive moments to win the deciding set, overcome its strong opponent 3–2 and take the title.
The triumph marked a milestone for Cambodian men’s volleyball and a remarkable turnaround this year. Cambodia finished bottom of the standings in the 2025 Southeast Asian Men’s Volleyball Cup after a disappointing campaign. A year later, the team transformed its fortunes, beating strong opponents Thailand and defending powerhouse Indonesia on its way to the title, demonstrating rapid improvement and determined sporting spirit.
