(Phnom Penh): On the afternoon of July 21, 2026, during a visit to the Philippines, Cambodian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Dith Tina and Philippine Agriculture Secretary Francisco P. Tiu Laurel Jr. jointly organised the Cambodia–Philippines Government–Private Sector Forum on Agriculture. The forum aimed to increase agricultural trade, meet market demand and ensure sustainable food security for the peoples of both countries.
About 33 private companies from Cambodia and the Philippines took part in the forum to discuss the possibility of importing more Cambodian rice into the Philippines, as well as other promising Cambodian agricultural products including cashew nuts and livestock products. They also discussed cooperation on agricultural fertiliser supplies to ensure sustainable agricultural inputs in both countries.
The report described this as a further new achievement in Cambodia–Philippines cooperation on opening markets for Cambodian rice and other promising agricultural products, which would bring economic benefits to Cambodian farmers.
