On the night of July 26, 2026, rangers based at the ស្រែវាល station in Prey Lang Wildlife Sanctuary seized 50 four-metre boards of category-2 ឈើទាល timber. The stated dimensions were 0.02 × 0.25 × 4 × 50 = 1 cubic metre. The boards were taken to the ស្រែវាល station for storage after a report and social-media posts by an account named Ma Chetra.
According to the Ministry of Environment, Ma Chetra’s group stopped the timber vehicle as it was being prepared for transport out of the province at night in ភ្ញាក់រលឹក village, ធ្មា commune, Chey Saen district, Preah Vihear province, then posted about it on the group’s own social-media account. The group did not detain the vehicle or the suspects, who drove away before rangers reached the scene. Nevertheless, the Preah Vihear provincial environment department said it would prepare a case file for referral to the prosecution authorities for legal action.
The Ministry of Environment and the Preah Vihear provincial environment department thanked residents and encouraged them to report natural-resource offences to the relevant officers for legal action. They said this participation helps protect natural-resource assets for future generations.
