Summary

The Tourism Ministry and Stung Treng authorities plan an August 8–9 event featuring exhibitions, an ecotourism forum, a public fun run and performances to promote northeastern tourism.

To further promote nature-based tourism and encourage visitors to explore the northeast during the green season from May to October, the Ministry of Tourism, in cooperation with the Stung Treng Provincial Administration, will organise the Green Season Tourism Event 2026 on August 8–9, 2026, at Techo–Thipadei Square, opposite Stung Treng Provincial Hall.

The event will be presided over by Tourism Minister Huot Hak and Stung Treng Governor Sor Soputra, according to a ministry announcement issued on July 27.

The ministry said the event has three main aims: 1. to promote the tourism potential of the northeast; 2. to support local economies and tourism communities by creating jobs and direct income opportunities for residents; and 3. to support and promote the Visit Cambodia During Green Season 2026 campaign, contributing to the government’s and ministry’s strategic objective of attracting and spreading domestic and international visitor flows throughout the year and across all seasons.

To enrich the event, the ministry has prepared exhibition stalls featuring food, regional dishes from the northeast, seasonal wild fruits and processed products from local communities. The programme will also include a forum on Ecotourism Potential in the Northeastern Region during Green Season 2026 and a public fun run themed Run for the Mekong Dolphins: Connecting Tourism during the Green Season, along with cultural performances and a concert.
