Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, said Cambodia was not only an attractive destination but also a place that provides safety for business and tourism.
At the 2026 Tourism Business Forum and Chinese tourism familiarisation visit to Preah Sihanouk on the morning of July 29, attended by 80 Chinese companies and 40 local companies, Huot Hak said: “Cambodia is not only an attractive destination. It also ensures that accommodation, leisure and business activities proceed smoothly, offering a sense of safety and warmth, as though visitors were returning to their hometown.”
Preah Sihanouk Governor Mang Sineth said he would continue strengthening tourism transport links by air, water, rail and road. He highlighted tourism promotion that would help increase direct flights between Preah Sihanouk and Chinese cities, making travel more convenient for visitors.
The governor also pledged to safeguard visitors, particularly Chinese tourists visiting the province. He said security in Preah Sihanouk was good and that provincial authorities were cracking down firmly on online scams, working to eliminate them from the province in order to attract and protect tourists, especially those from China.
During his visit and participation in the forum, Zhou Wendong, Vice-Mayor of Wuxi in Jiangsu province, said Preah Sihanouk’s natural islands, long white-sand beaches and clear blue waters offered highly attractive tourism potential. He described Wuxi as being in China’s eastern coastal region, with scenic mountains and waters and rich historical and cultural tourism resources. The two places’ tourism and cultural resources complement each other. He also said he would encourage Wuxi businesses and tourism companies to explore cooperation in infrastructure, culture and tourism in Preah Sihanouk.
Zhou Wendong said Wuxi would use the forum as a starting point to strengthen cooperation with Preah Sihanouk in three areas: 1. Jointly promoting tourism markets; 2. Organising regular reciprocal visits; and 3. Further opening bilateral culture and tourism investment channels to make cooperation closer and stronger.
