Following instructions from Prime Minister Hun Manet, chairman of the National Committee for Disaster Management, Senior Minister Kun Kim, the committee’s first vice-chairman, inspected water pumping to save drought-affected rice fields on the afternoon of July 29, 2026 in កាច់រទេះ village, Kampong Preang commune, Sangkae district, Battambang province.
Kun Kim told farmers that the government under Prime Minister Hun Manet attaches great importance to addressing water shortages, treating emergency water supplies for rice crops as an urgent task. He said specialists and relevant authorities had been instructed to intervene promptly to reduce crop losses.
He also urged farmers with fields downstream to cooperate with local authorities in organizing water allocation by turns and using water efficiently, so that it could reach everyone’s fields and minimize the effects of drought.
