Summary

Preah Sihanouk gendarmerie reported referring 87 suspects, including nine women, to court following a six-day drug operation.

Preah Sihanouk province: Acting on instructions from General Sao Sokha, deputy commander-in-chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and national gendarmerie commander, and provincial governor Mang Sineth, under the direct leadership of Brigadier General Heng Bunthy, provincial gendarmerie commander, anti-drug officers dismantled a major drug-trafficking and drug-use network and detained 87 suspects, including nine women.

At 3:40 p.m. on July 28, 2026, specialist officers completed case files and referred all 87 suspects, together with more than one kilogram of drugs and other related evidence, to Preah Sihanouk Provincial Court for further legal proceedings.

The operation lasted six days, from July 17 to 22, 2026, with procedural coordination by វុធ សាវី, deputy prosecutor attached to the provincial court. Anti-drug officers led by anti-drug office chief Major ឡុង គឹមហួរ conducted raids on a drug-trafficking and drug-use location at Phum Thmei in Village 3, Sangkat 3, Sihanoukville.

Officers extended the investigation and their operational reach to Kampong Speu province and Phnom Penh, leading to the arrest of another major female drug-trafficking suspect and the seizure of further evidence.

The operation reflects continuing law-enforcement efforts by the provincial gendarmerie to combat drug offenses and dismantle trafficking networks to maintain security, public order and residents’ safety.
