The five-day working visit (from September 27 to October 1, 2026) to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam by a delegation from Cambodia’s Ministry of Inspection, led by Minister Sok Soken, has opened a strong new chapter of cooperation with the Government Inspectorate of Vietnam. In a bilateral meeting with Nguyễn Quốc Đoàn, Inspector General of the Government Inspectorate of Vietnam, both sides pledged to enhance effectiveness through experience-sharing, human resource training, and an exploration of the feasibility of establishing a dedicated working group to coordinate relations and drive concrete technical cooperation aimed at promoting good governance and integrity within the public administration of both countries.
In addition to the bilateral meeting, the Minister also led the delegation to pay a courtesy call on Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung. On that occasion, the Vietnamese head of government expressed full support for cooperation between the two inspection institutions, and encouraged continued information-sharing and coordination of inspection work to serve the development of bilateral economic, trade, and investment ties. In response, Sok Soken emphasized that partnership in the inspection field is a vital driving force in further deepening the traditional friendship and good-neighborly relations, making them closer and more sustainably stable.
The visit took on even greater practical significance through firsthand learning at Vietnamese institutions and major companies, including the Government Inspectorate’s School of Inspection Cadres, the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV), the Ho Chi Minh City Inspectorate, and Viettel Group. The exchange of experience focused on complaint resolution, internal audit, and data management. In particular, Viettel Group clearly expressed its position on supporting Cambodia’s Ministry of Inspection in its digital transformation efforts, applying modern technology to inspection work and document management systems for greater effectiveness.
