The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology issued a weather forecast for the traditional Khmer New Year period of April 12–17, 2026, saying generally very hot conditions were expected to continue across Cambodia.
The forecast said maximum temperatures could reach approximately 36–40°C in lowland areas, with slightly lower temperatures in uplands and near mountains. Some seasonal showers were possible because of heat-driven weather conditions and episodes of strong winds.
The ministry urged people to be cautious of gusts, lightning and some heavy rainfall, particularly during the festivities, to maintain safety. By KPS99TV.
