Cambodia’s government has decided to hold its third National Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Day on June 27, 2026, under the theme “Building Bridges for MSMEs to Markets.” This is according to a government circular signed by Prime Minister Hun Manet on June 24.
The prime minister explained that the government chose the theme to pursue five main objectives:
1. Publicize government policies, strategies and programmes supporting MSMEs and the informal economy to improve productivity, quality and competitiveness, while preparing MSMEs for Cambodia’s planned graduation from least-developed-country status at the end of 2029.
2. Create a platform connecting MSMEs with markets, suppliers, investors, financial institutions, digital-commerce platforms and large enterprises to strengthen value chains and promote domestic supply.
3. Foster patriotism and support for domestic products by encouraging Cambodians to use “Made in Cambodia” goods that meet quality, safety and other standards and have high-quality, attractive packaging.
4. Encourage MSMEs to use digital technology and innovation to modernize production, business management and marketing.
5. Strengthen MSME resilience amid global economic uncertainty, regional competition, and geopolitical and international-trade challenges.
