Phnom Penh: Lieutenant General ឌី វិជ្ជា, Deputy Commissioner-General of the National Police, warned the public to remain highly alert to recruitment tactics used by online scam criminal groups. The groups are advertising jobs with promised monthly salaries of US$300 to US$600 to attract recruits.
In a social-media post on the morning of July 15, 2026, he said these criminal groups were trying to draw Cambodian citizens into illegal activities under the guise of well-paid employment.
He urged people to be more vigilant and not fall for attractive-looking advertisements or promises, because involvement in these activities could expose them to legal penalties and harm both themselves and their families.
ឌី វិជ្ជា also called on anyone who receives information about or encounters activities connected with these online criminal groups to report it immediately to the authorities for legal action, and stressed that people must not take part in or become involved with illegal activities.
