Acting on orders and guidance from Senior Minister គន់ គីម, First Vice-President of the National Committee for Disaster Management (NCDM), Deputy Secretary-General សុទ្ធ គឹមកុលមុនី led a team on July 23, 2026 to continue monitoring impact assessments and water-supply interventions to save farmers’ wet-season rice in កំពង់ព្រៀង commune, Sangkae district, Battambang province.
The visit was joined by គង់ គា, Director of the Department of Rice Crops at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, representatives of the provincial agriculture and water resources and meteorology departments, and Battambang authorities, to examine conditions on the ground and encourage timely intervention.
That afternoon, សុទ្ធ គឹមកុលមុនី continued to inspect water conveyance and distribution at the Thma Koul modern agricultural community in Thma Koul district, after coordinating the transfer of water from the Bavel dam to areas facing shortages.
The report said water supplies were running smoothly. The community board and community union organised pumping and distribution in an orderly and transparent manner, with coordination by local authorities and local police officers, who helped manage the work and cooperated with residents to ensure water reached farmers’ fields effectively.
The report described the action as demonstrating the Royal Government’s and NCDM’s attention to saving crops and reducing the effects of water shortages, particularly during the 2026 wet season.
